Our growth and progress have been off the charts since 2021. However, we think the intangibles are what really matter. We’re revitalized, financially stronger and more focused than ever on our members and the community.
So, how did we come up with Salt City Federal Credit Union and its new logo?
- Central New York was an industrial hub for more than a century. Salt mining near Onondaga Lake was a major industry at the turn of the 20th century and led to Syracuse being nicknamed “The Salt City”.
- By the 1970s, however, all that remained of our industrial glory was a body of water reputed to be one of the most polluted in the United States.
- With its roots near the same shores where salt was mined, ACMG Federal Credit has been serving CNY in good times and bad since 1953.
Fast forward to 2025. Industry is returning, neighborhoods are bouncing back, Onondaga Lake is making an historic comeback—and our credit union is stronger than ever!
The new name honors Syracuse’s industrious past while celebrating the economic and natural resurgence of the region and the growth and progress of our credit union.
The new logo features an eagle soaring over Onondaga Lake. The eagle is a national symbol of determination, independence and strength—qualities we also attribute to the credit union. The growing eagle population on the revitalized lake also symbolizes the resilience of the region and our credit union.
